I picked this up a thrift store as 'why not?' option to fill a 5 for $7 special. I'm familiar with it's popularity and the cashier raved about it, telling me it's her favourite book, so much so, a friend gifted her a special edition copy. My intetest in the book was revved.
It's a 60s looking cover with pills and the book is currently taking place in the mid-40s... how long til we get to the swinging sixties?

I get the book was written/takes place in a different time but it's starting to drive me nuts with lines like:
"I love you I want to make you happy" says the virgin to the playboy entertainment lawyer after 3 days, along with: "Of course you can't love me like I love you, I don't expect it- no one could love anyone that much"
Ugh. I'm about ready to lump it in with VC Andrews & toss it in the abandoned discard pile
