Let's be honest, we're talking about a book in which a weird kid who can't make friends and loves the X-Men gets used by a manipulative jerk because she's just so desperate to be liked. I was always going to love this book and I was always going to cry my way through it. Readers probably aren't supposed to dislike Chad as much as I do, but I identify a lot with Kiara and he's a jerk to her.
