It's pretty decent, I'm surprised. Not good for the battles and such like the films, much more about the journeying about. And occasionally the prose is too high-minded. But a pretty good adventuring novel.
Yeah this is one on my to reads list that I can never get around to, largely because I'll feel committed to reading the next two (also didn't care for the hobbit). But we shall see!
I think I picked it up after hearing some story about a guy listening to it on tape during a huge traffic jam. Sounded like a good book for lockdown times. 😂
