Re-Reading Le Meurtre de Roger Ackroyd in this volume . It’s translated into French by different translator from the last time. It’s all for French practice.
One can read it out loud also, to get the mouth apparatus used to mouthing French sounds, syllables, words, phrases and sentences .
The big secret of all this is that French is not really going into my head.

Reading The Big Four. Despite the negative reviews I like it and believe it. It was written in 1927 ! I find it perspicacious, written as Stalin and Mao tze tong were rising, before Hitler, before the raunchy 1930’s, before WW II. It’s about like an early James Bond book. Ok not a cozy village or high society murder mystery, so different from Christie but a nice change for one novel.

Could Lord Louis Mountbatten have had an earnest conversation with Agatha Christie in 1925 about his hopes for detective fiction, without, ahem, bedding the woman? I have no idea how those automatons function.
