19/11/2020 - Hankley Common - this is a pretty, short walk although it is about half a mile longer than the book states. The car park is large and free. Some very short road walking sections but they were not too bad.

02/04/2021 - Polesden Lacey - we were very lucky with the car park on this walk as we went mid morning on a sunny Bank Holiday and it was already full but thankfully a car was leaving as we turned up. There is a beautiful picnic spot behind the car park. The walk was nice and pretty and goes around the outside of the Polesden Lacey estate, which is a National Trust property.

Mytchett - this is the shortest walk in the book and is just a straight walk up the canal and then over the bridge and back through woodland. The car park is small but free. The walks goes past Frimley Park Lodge which is good for a detour and to make the walk longer.

Dorking - a really nice short walk with mostly pavements. A bit hilly with some beautiful scenery in places. Pay and display car park with lots of parking. Some of the car park is currently being used for Covid testing. The walk goes right past the car park for Waitrose which is 2 hours free parking and the walk only took us a bit over an hour.

Chobham Common - this is a muddy walk in November so boots are definitely needed. The car park is free and quite large. A little section of road walking but there are verges and the road is quiet so not dangerous. We got a little confused by the instructions towards the end of the walk so just followed the map. A nice short walk.

Savill Garden - I have walked around Virginia Water so many times and this route around Savill Garden and the Obelisk Pond is a lovely route. A nice short walk. Plenty of parking here but the charges are daylight robbery.

06/11/2020 - Runnymede - this feels more like sightseeing than a walk as there is lots of memorials to see as you go. The Commonwealth Airforce memorial is a beautiful place and well worth the trip up the steps. A small car park which is National Trust so a little pricey. One field of cows to walk through. The walk is muddy and was a bit slippy. I managed to stay upright and then fell over twice right at the end!

18/09/2020 - although this walk is only 3.5 miles, it is worth remembering that when you go down into the punchbowl, you are going to have to come up again and it is a very hard last part of the walk going up. A nice walk with loads of viewing points but a tough one. There is plenty of parking in the National Trust car park but a bit pricey

15/09/2020 - Pyrford - a really nice walk, mostly along a canal. The car park is free but quite small. The Anchor was a lovely pub to go to on a hot day. Part of the walk is through a golf course and we got a bit lost on the course and you need to pay attention when you are on there
