This isn't a bad book, though I'm having some difficulty with it. The main characters are actually sympathetic enough, a feat I haven't come across in the last couple novels I read, but the writing seems almost as if it's trying too hard. Many of the characters have the annoying trait of ending declarative sentences with question marks? And the overuse of italics for emphasis has grown old by this point.
