I had a slump these past few weeks. But I'd like to share this beautiful word that was shared by the protagonist, Nao.
Kotodama is a japanese term for words that has spirits within them. koto means "speech" while dama means "soul".
The problem of writing about the past really starts in the present: No matter how fast you write, you're always stuck in the then and you can never catch up to what's happening now.

I can't seem to finish Ruth Ozeki's novel. Nao's parts are too dragging, and I'm not even at the half of it. Might need to take a break from it and start on short stories from the same category: east asian lit

Really feels like a thesis manuscript but it's interesting.
