I like how this story is told not from a distant outside POV, but rather from the POV of the “evil” sorceress. It twists the tale into a “what if” the evil sorceress was misunderstood. It removes traditional roles from the picture, and allows for more freedom in a royal line of succession, and it’s brilliantly done.

This is definitely an interesting Sleeping Beauty retelling, and I like how it’s told from the point of view of the sorceress, rather than from a third person limited outside point of view that makes it feel distant. Instead, we get the sense that Alyce is more than what she is seen as at a first glance. I like her.
