These last two ("Deflation" and "Virgil and the Water") were very strange as well, and not entirely to my taste, but I thought the underlying ideas were intriguing.

Beating the Air: A strange little story, but I liked it. One of my favorite things about short fiction is that it allows authors to explore really weird ideas without needing to try to fit them into a whole book of plot.

Love in the Time of Con Crud: Beautifully written, and a clever (and relevant!) concept.
