Ok I'm in to it but these freaking harmonica interludes between chapters are killing me. They're super loud. Out of proportion to the volume I'm listening at. I'm stopping for the night at the next one.

Gee whiz... I'm not digging this. Not sure if it's because I wasn't really in the mood for Steinbeck (I had a hold on this book and it's my turn to listen to it) or if it's the narrator. The narrator is monotonous unless he's doing a character voice. I'd really rather be listening to another King book... I should get "Under the Dome" any day now.

Been curious about this author. I have 'east of eden' but haven't gotten to it yet

Haven't read that one. I've only read Grapes of Wrath and Of Mice and Men. TBH the only reason I wound up with this book is that I mixed it up with Of Mice And Men. This book is good but Of Mice And Men is better.
