Incredible!

Not getting into this at all. I still have no idea what it's about.

Actually listening to the Audible version but Goodreads appears to have removed my ability to add new editions of books.

If this doesn't get better fast, I'm going to return it.

The usual "add edition" function was missing for this book. So I couldn't add the Audible version. I'm not actually listening to cassette tapes.

This is off to a boring start.

My favorite Josie Tucker book so far.

This is only four hours long which seems stingy even for a YA or middle grade (not sure which yet) read. But I generally like books about aspies so lets give it a shot.

Many times have I attempted to read this. I've always given up because the story just never seems to go anywhere at all. A guy told me, today, that the story eventually begins around page 200. Ok, I'm game. Let's crank this up to 1.25x or 1.5x and see if ol' Shaun can slog through.

This is crap so far. The main character is completely unlikeable. Is he going to start improving in some way at some point? Stupid. Unbelievable. Only mildly funny.

My hopes were high for this book but it's not working. The format of this novel is a journalist interviewing people. There are too many perspectives. I don't get to know or care about any of the characters. This might be a good book for people who don't care about character development and just want plot. But it's not working for me. Luke Daniels' narration is amazing, of course.

I rarely DNF a book but I'm going to DNF this. If the top students at a failing community college got together and made an AI project called "AuthorBot," and they fed it "DOS for Dummies," this might very well be the novel that the bot spit out. This book is neither interesting nor funny. It swings and misses in cringey attempts to evoke nostalgia: "Hey 'member when Campbell's Cream of Broccoli soup first came out??"

Finished the first book, Bill The Vampire. Some lulz coupled with a solid, flowing, action-packed story. Characters are a bit stereotypical, but I didn't care. I wasn't expecting Wally Lamb or John Irving. I wanted some quick and easy yucks and that's what I got. Rick Gualtieri is an underappreciated talent. Looking forward to starting the next book right after I listen to one more episode of Authors & Dragons.

This book is incredible so far. Consistently thrilling.

I'm a bit bored by this one so far but I have faith that Kim Holden will wow me. She always has so far. This roommate of Gemma's that they just introduced is kind of interesting. Maybe that will go somewhere.

Meh. A forgettable romance so far. IDK why this was even in my library. I think I got it on sale or as part of a "two for one credit on limited items" deal.

This book tries to be funny but it rarely hits the mark. Just not overly engaged in this. It's not awful. It's just not that good.

Taking a second trip through this book because my girlfriend, who is not a reader, wants to hear it. I'm reading her about a chapter per night.

Ugh this is literally all about pro baseball. But I have to read it if I want to be able to say I've read all of King's books.

Well-written and enjoyable so far. It's great I guess. But it's not on the same level as "The Other Side" because I can't relate to any of these characters.

This book is pissing me off. I think it might be because I'm not smart enough to totally grasp it. The choral narration is odd. The feelings are described in gorgeous, poetic prose... But I don't understand them. I can't relate at all.

This is great! Exactly what I wanted.

They plagiarized a Three Stooges joke. That's all I can take. I'm out.

This is the most inane piece of garbage I've read in a long time. Might DNF it soon. I almost never DNF a book.

This is one of the most incredible books I've ever read. I went ahead and bought the audiobook so I can listen during the day and read the book at night.

Finished the first case file. This would be an A+ creative writing assignment if an eighth grader handed it in. I'm willing to suspend believability up to a point, as a reader, but this is too much. No school resource officer is going to hand his department issued handgun to a therapist no matter how nicely he's asked. There are other examples but I'm at the end of my character limit.

My introductory foray in to the world of cozy mysteries. "I'm a busy, single, female private detective who is in WAY over her head! But the client is so cute and so vulnerable and he even cooks. *giggle* *blush*" Somehow it's less lame than it sounds.

Thirty four hours long.... I hope it's good.

Ok I'm in to it but these freaking harmonica interludes between chapters are killing me. They're super loud. Out of proportion to the volume I'm listening at. I'm stopping for the night at the next one.
