Shaun
Shaun is starting
Many times have I attempted to read this. I've always given up because the story just never seems to go anywhere at all. A guy told me, today, that the story eventually begins around page 200. Ok, I'm game. Let's crank this up to 1.25x or 1.5x and see if ol' Shaun can slog through.

TL *Humaning the Best She Can* Good luck 👍

Thanks. It's ok so far but I'm still waiting for the main story to start. I'm twelve hours in and it's only a loosely related collection of short stories so far about different characters. Forty something hours left to go.

I've heard it's not an easy read to get through *hugs * is it considered a classic?

You gonna keep going? How's the narrator?

Shaun Yeah I guess it's considered a classic. My attention is going in and out but I'm trying to focus. It's a weird book and hard to do on audio. It has footnotes.... almost a novel's worth of footnotes. I'm not kidding. The footnotes are included as a PDF. When a female voice speaks a number, I'm supposed to read the corresponding footnote. I'm not keeping up. I'm usually working while I listen. So I just try to catch up on the footnotes when I have a few minutes.

I think the narrator is good. I've tried to start this book a few times in paperback format and I just couldn't get off the ground. It just read like nonsense that wasn't going anywhere at all. On audio, I've been able to listen to it. There's something of a story in there. It's not just totally random jibber jabber. There have been parts I've really enjoyed but overall it's kind of a mess so far. But I still have like 30 hours to go.

Oy vey.. I'd heard it had many footnotes but that many, wow.. are they all important to the text?

Nice, who's the narrator?

Aah okay, good luck with it 👍

My one friend enjoys it but I don't think it's for me

Shaun The narrator is Sean Pratt. He's doing a good job with a very difficult book. I'm down to the last seven hours. A story kind of started to take shape around the 10 hours-to-go mark. But it's still meandering all over the place.

I need to catch up on the footnotes but, as of the last ones I read, they're not adding much to the story.

I don't think you'd like this book. Animal cruelty.

Almost there:)

Wonder how long it took him to record the whole thing...

Hmm.. wonder why so many footnotes then, of they aren't adding much to the story.

Aah okay thanks 👌

Looking forward to your thoughts on it
