When I first started this book and read that Emmett's mom was taking him to a place where there was other children i thought it was going to be a sad story as to the children being abused since the place was hidden in the mountains. I was proved wrong, they were actually well taken care of... THEN all hell broke lose. I was so upset with what happened to the caretakers, then to the little girl.
