The writing feels spastic like pages or paragraphs are missing, but it's just the author's style - abrupt and scattered, yet sequential. Sounds crazy, which coincidentally is how I'm feeling as I read. The details are heavy handed and the main character is either comically self-absorbed or she's missed a dose of her medication. I'm compelled to keep reading by the same force that causes people to stare at accidents.
