This comes off as a bit ableist. Sam’s been mute since he was two, so for three years and his mom hasn’t worked to learn and/or teach him to sign.
She’s just constantly guessing at what Sam wants. “I think Sam wants...” over and over. Doesn’t seem very realist and poor Sam.
