I have been using this book for several years now but had not entered it in my Goodreads. It is not a book you read like a fiction story. It includes flowers, greens, mushrooms, woody plants, ferns, seaweed; where to find them, what time of year, food uses, recommended books for further research, an index, and color plates.

Living on the East Coast all my life, this is a great help in identifying edible wild plants. I am more interested in doing this now, as we try to make ends meet financially. We live in a urban area on the edge of a small city. There are woods behind our home and we don't use pesticides in our yard, so we have a variety of wild edible plants and search for them in our area. I loved the illustrations.
