When you speak to someone with an accent... you don't have to use the same accent. It only works with whole entire languages. Maybe Kvothe does it to seem more approachable, but it's freaking painful to read and just annoying.

Kvothe is more and more of an annoying little bastard. Not even death and misery can keep me from disliking his personality. I feel sorry for him for 2 minutes, then he acts like a knowitall, Gary Stu bitch and it's all gone.

I accepted this was never going to get finished. I don't mind. (What bothers me more is how the author refuses to admit he has an issue, he just blames everything from raising his kid to Donald Trump for why he can't be arsed to write.)
I'm just done with my yearly challenge, still have quite a few days left, so I decided to tackle this.

I have a lot of respect for writers, I give them a lot of slack, they're creative people, good things can't be rushed, etc
But I do appreciate when authors are being transparent about their issues
I think at some point it will be written, either 5 or 20 years from now... but who knows?
"Midnight Sun" was released this year, and it seemed like it was never coming. I have bleaker hopes for "The Host" sequels, though....

Never read it, but for some weird ass reason I assumed.
With Rothfuss, I just feel like it's egregious because he is doing other public projects. Like he still craves the attention and to sit at the table with The Authors, but he refuses to actually just write.
(I am 100% sure I have written more of my in-progress-prolly-never-done novel then he did of his and I have a 50+ hours a week job lol.)
But waiting until Doors Of Stone comes out to give this a chance. Might sitll have to wait for 10 years, but that's no worry
