As reviews have said, the writing is extremely clumsy. Plus Helen’s backstory is a variation on a book both Liane Moriarty and J. Courtney Sullivan have already written better.
So this was never going to be more than a 2.5/5, but I planned to finish it for the present story about murder in a retirement community.
Until the weird, third-person anti-abortion sermon at 50%.
