All Grown Up was a work that captured my attention as a work, so I wanted to follow it up with this one. About a sixth of the way in, Attenberg has solidly established a tone and a flow in this one. One thing I appreciate is that the environment is well established... the heat almost becomes an oppressive observing character in its own right - ever present and complicating the experiences of the other characters.
