This makes NO SENSE WHATSOEVER. I know Klein wanted to throw in a big twist, but that was just nonsensical.

We appear to be reaching no dramatic climax, although I suppose it might be too soon to tell. Or maybe I'm just being cynical because the rest of this book was so bad.

And now, Robyn has used the word 'retarded' casually, without anyone pointing out how fucked up that is. *sighs*

That action scene wasn't actually that bad; not well-written, but at least suspenseful.

This worldbuilding is ridiculously complex, to the point that I can't keep track of it. Harry Potter and Den of Shadows and The Mortal Instruments built their worlds gradually; Klein drops all of it on us at once, making it far harder to comprehend it all.

I gotta say, the characters aren't really interesting. They're universally one-note, and nobody has a real character arc. I feel like Robyn is supposed to come across as quirky and fun, but she's just a cliche.

The casual dialogue is really awkwardly written. It relies too much on subtext that you'd only really be able to convey with an actor. I can tell Klein had a very clear image of these scenes in her head, but she didn't do a great job conveying them to paper.

I feel like we're just now getting to what's meant to be the meat of the story. Not a good thing at all.

That could've been really interesting, if it hadn't been given to us in an infodump. As it stands, it's pretty boring.

Hoo, boy. This writing is constantly annoying, to the point where I don't want to read it sometimes.
