Notes:
(1) The last volume messed me up pretty bad. It's taken me five days to right myself and muster enough strength to begin this. Why? Because reading Ann Nocenti is like drinking spoiled milk. It's not a question of whether you'll get ill, but how ill you will get.
(2) Even though I'm one issue in, I'm going to have to reread it later to, if possible, make sense of it.

Notes:
(1) So far, this book's surprised me. It's only been regular two-star bad, rather than the painful one-star bad I expected. There is the Joker's Daughter origin issue upcoming, which I've read before, and it's the worst single issue comic I've ever read.
(2) I wonder if editorial, at this point, paid closer scrutiny to Nocenti. The dialogue's... comparably tolerable.

Notes:
(1) Two days in, and how have I only read 44 pages? I guess it does make sense, since I'd rather do ANYTHING else than read this.
(2) Drumming up motivation to read this book is like rolling a boulder up the side of a slippery hill.
(3) Why does all the dialogue in this book sound like beatnik poetry? This freeform hippie prose is a drag, man, it's a king-sized drag!

Chad wrote: "Are you going to read the Frank Tieri volumes where Selina takes over the Gotham mob too?"Of course. That would be Volume 8, if I'm not mistaken.
Kadi wrote: "@Jay yikes! Double good luck!! Just think of how great it’ll feel when you finish them"Thanks! Additionally, it'll be nice to know I've put her writing behind me as well... that is, unless I have a error in judgement and decide to read her Katana, Green Arrow or Klarion the Witch Boy. 😁

Oh, that's right. I forgot there was another writer between Nocenti and Tieri.
Chad wrote: "Oh, that's right. I forgot there was another writer between Nocenti and Tieri."Yes, Genevieve Valentine. I know nothing about her except that she must be better than Ann Nocenti.

Not by much. Having Selina take over the mob was stupid. It's basically no longer Catwoman at that point.
Chad wrote: "Not by much. Having Selina take over the mob was stupid. It's basically no longer Catwoman at that point."Well, that's DCYou era thinking for you. Batman's not really Batman, Superman's not really Superman, Nightwing's a spy, Black Canary's a punk singer, Batgirl's a hipster, etc. Catwoman being a mob boss isn't so off the wall, comparatively.

DCYou. Some of the darkest days at DC.
