The pacing's a little frenetic, but that's sort of par for the course with this series. I'm liking it, though--it's probably in the 3.5 range so far, though it's still early.
I get it. I'm always torn about the books in this series. They aren't my favorites, but they are fun. The author does have an issue with pacing and the fight scenes are always confusing. But I will probably read it anyway and soon. I'm looking forward to your review.PS: Are you Team Mircea or Pritkin? I'm just curious... ;)
You know, this is one of those rare cases in which I'm actually on the fence. I love Mircea, and I love the two of them together, but Cassie's absolutely right to be worried about his ulterior motives and what it means to him--and to the vampire hierarchy--for the two of them to be in a relationship. The concerns she has are serious and legitimate. Pritkin can be such an asshole, but he really does grow on you, and there's nothing he wouldn't do for Cassie. And it's hard to argue with their chemistry. Plus, she's probably about the only person who's capable of lightening him up, even just a little.
So really, I suppose I could be nudged in either direction by whatever happens in this and upcoming books! What about you?
LOL! As usual, I'm about the same as you.In the first few books I was totally team Mircea. I'm a vampire girl, after all, but as the series progressed Pritkin grew on me and now I'm on the fence for the same reasons as you. I can go either way if it's well done. However, I do think she needs to choose and stick to a choice SOON. I have no patience for women who don't know who they want and bullshit love triangles. Just pick one and be done with it. It's book 6 already and nothing has been resolved in the romance aspect.
