Hard to know what to think of this in the end.

You're kidding me right? An ancient looking gypsy hag complete with palm reading, missing teeth and head scarf that is just there somehow in this alley? Damn, the story usually does really way with her being a competent detective without coming across as wishfullfillment, but sometimes the author really throws in several cliches and stereotypes.

Makes sense that the big boss of brothels is a woman in Paris. However, sometimes this comic is just stupid, like throwing in random english or calling this the brotherhood of evil.

They must have shrunken this down significantly. Not only is the text so small that you have to pay really close attention to what is written and concentrate, but scenes like this saturday market place are so detailed that they couldn't have been drawn in this size.

This talk at breakfeast between the two clearly shows that with so much text the comic format is way too small. It would need to be at least half as big to have the font size be big enough that you don't need to almost press your nose to it.

"by the marvelous ovaries of the pope Johanna"... and the spirit of nostradamus talks about fees for spirits... is this supposed to be a comedy? One could think so, but now we have a murder.

A picture of a stuffed dodo? Is that supposed to be symbolism?
