I can't tell how many times I've read this story but even this new translation helps me find new things to enjoy. The gruesomeness of Grendel's actions are particularly evocative and frightening. Also, this translation emphasises the Christian aspects of the culture more than others.

This retelling of the story is so clear and evocative.

I can't wait to read this version of the story.
