I loved the way Michael Morpurgo described the battle between Beowulf and Grendel. It was really brutal and gruesome. I could imagine the action in my mind, like a mini projector projecting images up there. I could imagine the ripping of Grendel's tendrils, the muscles twisting, the bones snapping. It made me queasy to think about it.

I thought the descriptive language and adventure really brought this story to life. It was like travelling to a different world and seeing it in Beowulf's eyes. It was like seeing a movie through your imagination, the gruesome Grendal and brave Beowulf.
