Damn you Special Forces.
People keep telling me how much they love the series and that my general avoidance of all war-time stories need not apply. It's making me curious.
But I don't want to start! Because this is NaNo month and if I like it I'll get obsessed. I don't have time for that now. But SF keeps coming up-- and more and more lately I keep going, "HMM. But what if I...?"

I have the opposite problem. I keep hearing how great it is so I resolve to read it, but then I look at the blurb and think "really? Are you sure?".
And then I see the rest of my towering to be read list and pick something else.
