The first legend in this collection is The Birth of Japan... and it was... bothersome? Like most ancient literature (odyssey, Oedipus Rex), it’s filled with incest and misogynistic perspective. I mean I get that this was ancient times, but it doesn’t make me less uncomfortable about it
