The book starts to sum up what happened and how everyone is adapting to the death of the girls. It also explains how the death sentence date of one killer is set. Although, the public starts to feel sympathy for the guy. people protest and such.

Tom is completely off the hook and the four men who murdered are in custody. Tom is starting to prepare for the trail. They only found Julies body, but they still had the funeral. The other body was never found.

The book explains how Tom, the witness to the rape and murder of his cousins, goes to the police voluntarily for questioning. Soon though, they suspect him for the murder, and keep him in jail. He is treated very badly. The rest of the family grieve as they lost family, and now Tom is facing jail time and the death penalty possibly

The book explains the whole incident that happened. They tell how the three cousins were walking on the bridge on April 4th and three men attack them. They rob them, beat them up, rape them, and then push them off the tall bridge. Tom, the cousin, is the only one who survives the ordeal.
