Heart breaking, life affirming, resilience and friendship. Difficult childhoods and relationships come full circle as this book examines Queenie's experience and her personal rise to a woman who is both fragile and tremendously strong. I am a little bit in love with these characters, all maternal instincts and the desire to see women thrive and succeed against the backdrop of modern multicultural London. Wonderful.
