One of my pet peeves in fantasy is having magick that is OP without any limitations. I’m not saying soft magick is bad but there is definitely a difference between not giving magick any clear boundaries and characters just going “yolo!” and doing whatever. This book is the second fyi. I feel no investment with any of the conflict because I know someone will pull some bs out of their ass. =P

Still hate the MCs but like Max and Quinn. If they meet and become friends maybe I’ll ignore the douche bag MCs and give the book a better rating.

I put this book down because I couldn’t stand the characters or writing. Picking it back up because I’m a masochist who won’t let a bad book beat me.
Not restarting because that 2% was bad enough the first time and I have the rest of the book to trudge through.
