Tehanu was incredible. As I’ve written each of these updates I know I keep saying the same things and I know I don't have the right words. Let me try and explain. Tehanu is different than the first three, complicated, introspective, personal, from a woman's perspective. It is harsher and uglier in many ways, but in that lies part of its greatness.

Really nice so far. I appreciate the bond growing between Tenar and Seserakh, and also the speech Orm Irian gave to the people was really interesting. This books is doing a lot of explaining about the world of Earthsea and its history in really well done ways.

Really interesting and gripping, I feel very invested in the last book. There's also some nice humor that I didn't notice as much in the earlier books. Great so far!

Irian was wonderful and powerful. I'm at a loss for words to explain, but I just really enjoyed it.

The Bones of the Earth was really interesting, and almost like a character study. I love the idea of magic tied to a specific land, the magic of Gont. The story set on the high Marsh of Semel was also really good and just nice and small and contained.

Just finished reading Diamond and Darkrose, it was really sweet and moving. The way Le Guin told the tale made it feel timeless, but not in a static way. It felt like a story that was often repeated throughout the history and lands of Earthsea, different every time.

The story about Medra was good! I really liked how it all came together and how he ended up being the doorkeeper. A pretty quick story with a lot going on, but still really meaningful and touching. One of the strength's of Le Guin's writing.

The tale of how Roke was founded is really good. The pacing is a little fast, but overall Ive enjoyed the story. The description of Gelluk and how mad and raving he is really fit well and Le Guin's writing really made all of the scenes and settings come alive.

Starting Tales of Earthsea, good so far! I don't have a ton to say tonight. I especially liked the Foreword of the book.
