I love the description of the way the battles happened. I am grateful for the maps too, that help me find my place along the battles. So well written, tough to follow since so much of the language of war is new but reading slow and using the maps has helped stay in the fields. So much loss of life, amazing!

We are in the war now, tough to follow who is who - so well researched. I'm liking thus section, more so than the first half. I think it's fun to have added some emotions to the narration. I like it

Can't put down, so well written. The connection to uncle Tom's cabin is amazing!

I just can't get enough from these two, what an intriguing story. From such ordinary lives, what a way to write. So happy.

Wow, so well researched. One sided but, of course that's the theme.
