This book has completely lost me with its slow pacing. I really only read it when I'm waiting somewhere and didn't bring another book with me, and by the updates it's clear that's not happening often.
Things are seemingly picking up, but it's too late. Unless by some miracle it can draw me back in, I won't finish it before 2022 starts and I remove all unfinished books I wasn't reading recently to start out fresh.

Thank goodness they've finally gotten the closet skeletons out of the darn closet again. The relationship between Julia and Brisbane is also more interesting, so I should make progress more quickly again. But I kind of wished all this happened about 100 pages sooner than it did.

This slow built up is really beginning to wear thin to the point that I wish I insisted on taking a break from this series. I don't mind waiting for the case to appear, but I'm beginning to wonder if the pay was per chapter at this point. Some chapters back there were closet skeletons and I was super excited, only for Brisbane to just put them back in again.

Slow build up again, but luckily Valerius being hilarious helps me through it.
Of all Julia's siblings he's by far my favourite lmao

Valerius being a snob is so far my favourite thing about this book.
So glad they forced him to come along on this trip lmao

I was going to take a little break and read something else before continuing this series, but I mean this book starts with Nicholas not wanting Julia to show up at his new home and Julia showing up at his new home.

Is there a better way to start a book? ~(￣▽￣~)
