I know there's a place for the 'stupid friend' trope but Annette is soooo annoying she actually gets totally between me and my enjoyment of this entire book. I mean really... Enough to avoid the rest of the series.

I enjoyed this first one - I really did - but I feel like Darynda might have been having a bad few weeks (or maybe I am) for the first section of this one. It feels like lazy writing ... funnel everything through Annette's stupidity (and I really liked her in the first book)I've put the audio aside for a few weeks - to see if it's me!
I am curious to see what you think of it when you pick it up again. I’m in no rush to read it now as I have plenty others in my queue
