I read these cause they are set in the town in which I grew up. I find the detective, a female journalist who is an occasional lecturer at Princeton, to be kind of annoying. The way she is written, she ain't much of a journalist, so I have no idea what she is doing at Princeton.
That said, it is an acceptable bedside table book for reading just before sleep. Simple, uncomplicated, if a tad annoying.
