Chapter 6 further made me understand that we do not live in a post racial world as much as white guilt in us has tried to push the narrative that there is a lot of goodwill and charity that is making up for what our ancestors did. How can the author claim that the white reader is racist? Because our “definition of a racist is someone who holds a conscious dislike of people because if race” and this is what stops the debate. However, doing this uploads the status quo which is still an unequal society. This is the problem: The definition we’ve worked with so far doesn’t allow us of dismantle racism.
