Is this a collection of short stories ? What made you pick Kunal Basu ? Many years ago I started reading one of this books, I think it was The Miniaturist but I couldn’t complete it. It was just very complicated and detailed. Perhaps I should revisit the book now.

No its a single novel with 3-4 parts.What made me pick? Participating in a Summer Readathon where you pick a book with summer theme - sun on cover, beaches, yellow colored book.... and I had this yellow hardcover edition.
I also have miniaturist and will eventually read it.
Couple of years back, I had read his book called Kalkatta which was a decent read.
I don't have this book called Japanese Wife, and want to read that too because the film was lovely.
Cool, enjoy. Yes, The Japanese Wife was indeed a great film.
