Amazing story of courage. Look up online the Forlorn Hope Expedition which was a recreation of the trek across the Pass from Donner Lake to Johnson Ranch by 4 extreme outdoors runners/hikers in January 2020. They carried photos of those who were in the original party.The timeline of their travels & of the original party is there to read.
