I'd read this as a serial from the author's mailing list, then I got the paperback and it sat looking pretty on my bookshelf. Today, while I wait on the audio for Misdirection to drop, I'm revisiting this combined with J.F. Harding's audio rendition and I already know it was good decision. I'll be needing tissues.

YUP. I gave it five stars just because of how good that audiobook was!!! The story would've probably been meh for me if I read it, but the narrator's voice work for the MC... 🥵🥵

I own them but I’ve been afraid to read them. Did you? I agree with you, the original trilogy was so crazy OTT that I would’ve probably skimmed and rated way lower but Harding has made this a series I sometimes dip into as a comfort listen. I know all the beats and I love it. Like a favorite song.
