I am loving the quilt blocks, and the letters from 1920s farmers' wives that accompany them, mostly extolling the virtues of country living and farmwork, are a wonderful accompaniment. Given the Goodreads reviews I am going to guess that I'm the only person who ever has read those letters, wincing to think of what the 1930s are going to bring those women, and hoping that decade was as kind to them as they deserve.
