The introduction of the book really caught my attention. It started with nailing the idea of long focused work without distraction (= "Deep work") by using Jung as an example. Apparently, Jung built a cottage out of the city and he used to go there for retreats. He drafted his most well-known ideas during these retreats at the cottage he built. The book has a Silicon Valley vibe to it, but so far it was good.

I liked the book so far. If you are doing a PhD, it helps to appreciate the deep work space we have. If not, it may motivate you to consider more long undistracted chunks of work to your schedule.
