Kind of conflicted about this volume. Loved all the focus on Furi, Akashi, Mayuzumi and Reo... and kind of hated everything else? This last game just isn't good. Them beating Murasakibara's team is pretty believable I think, but everything after that has been asspull after asspull... The guys struggling and being outdone again and again is probably the last time the story makes sense. Rakuzan is clearly superior.

Ch. 242 completely ruins Hyuuga's character. Honestly, he wasn't that likeable before, but you could at least kind of respect him. Am I supposed to sympathise with a guy who's pissy about his role model being gay because he hates gay people? He's not even shy about it, he outright states he hates them multiple times jfc... Fuck him.

Furihata vs Akashi is one of the best things that happened in the series, and I stand by that. The way Fujimaki drew Furi trembling in front of him is hilarious.

There's more focus on Mayuzumi in the manga yessss

I'm genuinely so relieved about how Reo was portrayed as a queer character in 2013 Japan. He's basically a genius, super skilled, charming, well-mannered and straight up beautiful in every panel?? His teammates respect him, and even someone as homophobic as Hyuuga admitted he admired him and copied his technique.
