Very interesting. Never read a book like this. It often made me wonder what I would do or how I would react to being transported to a tome in history where it wasn’t safe to be black. The author did a great job of portraying the main character wise enough to know how to get around in those times by possessing some knowledge about how to stay safe and healthy in those times.
