I gotta say, the romance in this book falls surprisingly flat. Drew is torn between wanting to find out what happened to Casey and his attraction to Logan. And the mystery part always wins out...

I'm not sure about Drew's motivation. After ten years, wouldn't you just do the funeral and close the chapter? He's acting and full of anger as if the case was brand new. I would be surprised if people still remember details from what happened 10 years ago .

The day that Izzy Carmichael had stepped up to me in the grocery store and explained how someone had told her I was one of those bisexuals will forever be a scar on my memory. Particularly when Grandma Garton, the maker of cakes, made some off-hand comment about how it was all the same thing but needed more lube. I’d nearly died on the spot.

It's definitely interesting how all the male characters in this series claim to be bisexual, but always go for male partners in their romantic endeavors.

What was it about Logan that made me want to ask him questions? Was it the way he confronted me or the kind respectful way he’d talked to me? Was it the fact that I’d met an equal, someone who’d seen some of the things I had? Was it his green eyes?
Or the way he’d managed to pin me to a desk?

This is outstanding. Drew is so high strung, I love it.
