I've been stuck for weeks because I can't handle such an immersion into politics, terrorism, corporate autocracy, torture, and genocide.
So I'm going to skip ahead and read the end now. If it gives me the feel-good vibes I need to stay strong, I'll come back to this point and resume.

I'll bet. I nearly DNF during that part myself. But I was glad I stuck with it. I hope it works out well for you too.
Thanks for the encouragement. I've been impressed by this author in the past, so I'll stick with it. I'm sure I'm making very grumpy faces while reading it, though. ☹️😖😠
I have this on my TBR and I hate reading about torture. Thank you for the heads-up, Teal, I hope you're over that part and can enjoy the rest of the book.
