This is a long book with leisurely pacing, but I don’t dislike it for that or find it slow, despite my slow progress. I’ve definitely been surprised by a few twists and turns. I honestly don’t know which way the romance will go at this point! But I really enjoy Mary’s growth as a character. If the book were shorter it wouldn’t be as believable.

I was skeptical about this book, but I’m loving it more and more with each section! I have a feeling part 3 will be a favorite since the Gardiners are set to play a big role!
