Really solid set-up. Both main characters have clearly defined goals and interesting backstory. This story def has all the quirky whimsy we usually find in a Zoe Chant book. Everly finds a baby dragon in the woods and her first thought is "Lemme find a vet" XD You gotta love a book that doesn't take itself too seriously

Very sweet chemistry between them. Look, I don't know why the Unicorn thing works for me, but let me be honest, it's super working for me.
The first kiss scene was kind of ruined by that awful crass dick joke Everly made immediately after. I hate when the female lead is acts like a frat house bro. Maybe she can end the next chaper by smashing an empty can of monster on her head

I was really digging the first date chemistry between Angel and Everly, until she starts getting all huffy in her head that Angel isn't talking more about his family. Public Service Announcement: SOME PEOPLE HAVE HAD HORRIBLY TRAUMATIC THINGS HAPPEN AND NO LONGER TALK TO THEIR FAMILIES. The whole wold is like "Get over it" while constantly expecting you to retell your trauma to sate their curiosity.
