Not quite what I expected. She's Chinese and Jewish, growing up in Chicago, then 20s in NYC, married a ND/MN farmer. So far it seems every recipe is Jewish. Recipes call for sumac, za'atar, tahini*, zhoug*, marizipan, labneh*, hawaij*, etc. She'll give you recipes for * half of that stuff. But I'd have to modify any recipe to leave all that out. I don't like spicy food. Reading for stories not recipes, or so it seems
