went into this book with high expectations because, frankly, of the cover. plus, it won best fiction book of 2020 on goodreads. my thoughts so far:
-what was the point of that first chapter beside introducing mrs elm ?? the mini cliffhanger didnt even have a satisfying pay off
-for some reason the dialogue feel disjointed; disjointed bc of the lack of pause + the dialogue sounds unnatural and cheesy imo
