ok i think it’s actually the better feminist option for stephen king to not write women because his fundamental flaw i think is that he cannot create characters that aren’t at their core himself and he cannot imagine what being a woman feels like. which is why hes bad! but when he writes what he knows it is actually a very charming and captivating read. “Mike’s breath caught, as if on a thorn.” i love that

gonna have to face the fact that when i finish this summer will be over and as much as this book makes it feel like it could stretch forever it just won’t. it’s good it’s bad it’s perfect and the worst at the same time. inexplicable but not really it’s just that who has the time for that?

very disheartening how casually mean stephen king is to baby ben… leave him alone, what have fat people ever done to you. this book is like every moral panic of the 80s embarrassingly incorporated into a story about the ineptitude of adults to recognize what’s real and what’s fake. ironic
